I love lots of different kinds of music.... classical, opera, oldies, 80's rock, fun disco songs, rock, country, etc..... I'm just not really into rap (well, some Christian rap I like, but not too much). For me, it really depends on the content in the lyrics and all. My FAVORITE kinds of music would have to be Contemporary Christian/Christian rock. My favorite bands/singers are THIRD DAY, Todd Agnew, David Crowder Band, MercyMe, Rebecca St. James.... just to name a few. If you want to hear some Christian music online, there's ChristianRock.net . Oh, and if you like "Christian Country"/Gospel, check out my good friend Corey at www.coreybrooksministries.com . He just released his third cd, it's great! I'm supposed to be going along to one of his concerts while I'm in West Virginia for Thanksgiving, and when I start school at Appalachian Bible College in January, I'm going to be a part of the ministry team that goes along on tour with him. Yay!

Hmmm... I like Bach, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, . But really, my favourite performers are Horowitz and Oistrakh. I don't suppose all of you care about that sort of thing ;D. It's all about Bach, my friend. Though, Beethoven and Mozart are good too. Anything later than that though, and I don't like it as much. Oh, and the Beatles. "I am the Walrus, cu-cu-ca-choo!"

Interesting...the Rolling Stones played at a concert near where I live the other night. It apparently was a smashin' good concert, although I'd never go there for anything. But Mick Jagger, the lead singer, is 63 and could still go on touring for 10 more years. Amazing what healthy eating and excercise of your vocal chords can do...

I just listened to Demon Hunter recently, they are very, very good. The following is the lyrics of The Soldiers Song, but to get the total feeling of Demon Hunter you have to listen to them.
Through the clouds of fallen ash, a lonely mother's cry Among the fields of broken glass the loyal few will rise Faith now regained Finding strenght within the void, of raging fire ignites A spark of ever-burning power and conviction to fight Pride be your name They will spit upon the honor that you guard with your life And run to hide in selfish fear when threat of death is in sight Lay down your shame
(Pre-chorus:) Armed with resistance and blind to the cost They say your purpose is mindless and lost But we don't adhere to the slader they spill We mourn with your losses and stand by your will
(Chorus:) These tears we spill They haunt us still The cries of the weak lie quiet in sleep Beneath our feet
We are the sons of holy wrath, a shining light in the dark The ones who walk amongst despair, no sign of fear in our hearts Stand in death's way Shut out the voice of mindlessness, open your eyes to the truth Believe the words that stand the test and not the slurs of the youth You're not what they say
(Pre-chorus)
(Chorus)
Turn over the tables and watch them run You'll be the weapon they can't outgun
(Chorus)

Demon Hunter....I actually heard part of a CD of theirs. It's a little bit too....well....hard rock-ish for me, personally, but was kinda different for a change.

I love this song:
Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning? And who told the ocean you can only come this far? And who showed the moon where to hide till evening? Whose words alone can catch a falling star?
Chorus: Well I know my Redeemer lives I know my Redeemer lives All of creation testifies this life within me cries I know my Redeemer lives
ye-e-eah The very same God that spins things in orbit runs to the weary, the worn and the weak and the same gentle hands that hold me when I'm broken they conquered death to bring me victory
Now I know, my Redeemer lives I know my Redeemer lives let all creation testify LEt this life within me cry I-I-I know My Redeemer
He lives to take away my shame and He lives forever I'll proclaim that the payment for my sin was the precious life He gave and now He's alive and there's an empty grave!
And I know my Redeemer lives He lives I know my Redeemer lives let all creation testify Let this life within me cry I-I-I know my Redeemer
I know my Redeemer lives I know my Redeemer lives
* I know, That I know, that I know, that i know, that I know He lives *Because He lives I can face tommorow He lives *I know, I know* He lives *I spoke with Him this morning!* He lives *The tomb is empty He lives *I gotta tell everybody!!*

I don't know who wrote that song, but I have heard it before.
At first I thought Demon Hunter was a little too rocky, but they have parts that are not that hard, just regular rock. The lyrics like the ones I posted have a lot of meaning. It was good to read the lyrics before I got the songs, so now I at least now the idea of what they are talking about.
I think Hawk Nelson is okay. I like Letters to the President and Things We Go Through. I think they are coming out with a new CD sometime this year.

Music is my life. lol I do all my homework with music, but not studying. I heard that Hawk Nelson has a new CD called "Smile, It is the End of the World." I also heard it will be more rocky, which IMO is good.
