so whatcha think? i don't celebrate halloween, but i know alot of christians who do. i don't really care if little kids dress up as cinderella, or spiderman, just not witches and stuff like that, but i'm not completely sure on this one. i know that many think that the idea of dressing up and participating on this day is wrong.

Well I personally don't celebrate it. I've nevr been trick-or-treating in my life. But I agree with Christian here, Halloween is a good opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with kids. When else do you have people knocking on your door asking for something? it's a good opportunity.

You are all right, and I don't see the harm in simply having fun, because really, the fun is simply having a good time chatting with your friends when you go out trick-or-treating, and the fun does not really derive from saying "trick-or-treat!" at every door. I like to think of it as a social times. But I don't really like the commercialization of Halloween, and dressing up to scare people and all that. But as always, take the opportunity to spread the Gospel.

There's nothing wrong with trick-or-treating, but the "holiday" of halloween has become simply demonic! I personally do not celebrate halloween...you wouldn't BELIEVE the weird and evil things that have happened to me and my family over the years on halloween. The Day of the Devil, I say.

You can tell it's demonic because of the outfits people dress up in. I think it's revolting that people would actually want to dress up as a ghost, witch, devil, etc...

Yeah. It's really sad that it was once the Hallowed Eve, in praise of the Lord. But all the more reason to try and do something about it. Here's an idea: put a tract in every candy wrapper you have ;D

I don't really do halloween but i do dress up for parties and things and i stil 100% believe in my God so i don't see an issue B

It depends quite a lot on your mentality to the whole thing then. But TD's post scared me a little. It's important not to let the Devil have any role in it, but if you do, then I would say it's very bad. If you honour God doing it, then I'd say it's fine.

Well, I confess I went out trick-or-treating today. The best part was talking with my friends, and I went out dressed as James Bond in a tuxedo. ;D What do you think of doing that? I think it was perfectly fine.

rite ok - just cos im curious- is it demonic that my boyfriend dressed up as a vampire cos he is a leader for disabled scouts? cos he doesnt believe they exist- he just dressed up as one in the spirit of the evenin. and is halloween not connected to the current christian celebration- cant member name- that includes all saints day (today) and all souls day (tomorrow)? personally i don't think that dressing up as a vampire is demonic at all. umm basically halloween is a celebration for demons and devils, since all saints day was created after halloween i think it was really just an attempt to avoid the demonic celebration

Do you remember that Halloween used to be called Hallowed Eve? Back then, a long time ago, it was a sacred holiday in honour of God, or so I recall.

Well, sacred or not, it has been transformed into something evil. The hype surrounding it, I mean. No harm in going door-to-door and asking for candy, though...

Advocates against Christianity point out that the day of Christmas used to be a pagan holiday called Saturnalia )in honour of the god Saturn), but then the Christians changed it into Christmas. I don't think this has any relevance whatsoever. There are probably any number of pagan holidays that used to be (Probably more that 365), so it doesn't really matter.

since we're on the subject of Christmas, have u ever thought about the real date of Christ's birth? From research and stuff i've read i think it's some time in March, cause thats when the sky would have been clear for the stars and that's when the shephards would have been out attending their sheep.

That would be TOTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLYYYYYY SWEET!!!!! Whoa, cool. Actually, schollars (for some reason) believe that Jesus was actually born in Spring/summer. As for Halloween...I could care less...I never do anything for it.
