The Fatal Wound on Nothing is Sound,.....is it about suicide? I read one interperatation sp? that said it was about the thief who was on the cross with JEsus....

They are... OK. Listening to them though I'm not entirely sure what sets them apart from any other band in the genre.
The Beatles have sold more albums, way more albums. More than any other band ever. So take that ;D.

The Beatles had weird hair and were on drugs. So THERE! Haha!
and what sets them apart is they have good voices AND lyrics. Wow.

I read a sportswriter who once compared trying to figure out what baseball players were on steroids to trying to figure out what Beatles songs were written when they were high. They just all seem that way
They had normal hair in the beginning. But about the time The White Album rolled along they were pretty much out of it (at least some of them were, Paul Mccartney seems to have maintained some normality through the years).
Their voices sound exactly like any other band in the genre. If you played me Switchfoot I would have no idea it was them, it could be anybody. That's why I like the Beatles so much. They just had their own genre, which as of yet nobody else has entered.
Lyrics?! Come on! You can't do any better than the Beatles. Such moving songs as, "Everybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey," and "I am the walrus" (featuring that wonderful chorus, "I am the eggman, (woooooooo) they are the eggmen (woooooooo), I am the Walrus, coo-coo-ca-choo!"), and Bungalow Bill. They move me man (I laughed, I cried, it moved me Bob).

If Christianity is a crutch, than it's a thousand foot one.
Or that's the story I heard.

Step 1: Go to profile at the top of the page. Step 2. Go to Modify profile. Step 3. Scroll down past the penguin to where it says "Avatar URL." Step 4. Copy and Paste the URL of the picture you want to use. Step 5. Click Update.
Note though, that this only works for pictures off the internet. No idea what you do if you want to upload them off your computer.
Oh, well trust me. They're nothing special. Everybody sounds like that.
Yea something like that. Or maybe its easier to hit everybody with a thousand foot crutch. That would probably be the only reason I'd name my band that.

OK, here's something interesting: The Fatal Wound on Nothing is Sound,.....is it about suicide? I read one interperatation sp? that said it was about the thief who was on the cross with JEsus.... Here's Jon Foreman's (songwriter/lead singer's) explanation for "The Fatal Wound": Taken from Jesus Freak HideoutSwitchfoot is one of my favorite Christian bands, if not my absolute favorite. Their lyrics are much more powerful than many Christian bands because they talk about real-life issues and are more down to earth. Switchfoot's songs all seem to have some sort of spiritual connotations in them, though not always direct.

Yeah.,...I've read that, but it still doesn't really explain what the song is about....or am I missing something?
The thing I don't like about Switchfoot....is the vocalist. As a trained musician in a choir, I can always tell when he goes off-pitch....and it drives me INSANE. (For example, hear song: Underwater) That's only on a few songs, though....so overall I do like Switchfoot quite a bit.
THIRD DAY, man! They rock the house! lol I also like Hawk Nelson.

I think Switchfoot is okay. I love Thousand Foot Krutch. I am leaning now towards harder rock, like Staple, Demon Hunter, POD, Still Remains and others.
Switchfoot IMO is too soft.

Yeah.,...I've read that, but it still doesn't really explain what the song is about....or am I missing something? Yeah, I don't know. That quote may have some relation to your idea about Jesus and the thief on the cross, but you never know. If "The Fatal Wound" is about suicide, then I'd be very disappointed in Switchfoot. That doesn't go along with the rest of their songs. I mean, they sing about everyone being "meant to live for so much more," then turn around and sing about someone killing himself! That's not concurrent with their other songs, so I would be more inclined to think that the song has another purpose other than to be glorifying suicide.

Oh, and BTW: I've never heard any Hawk Nelson songs to my knowledge. Are the songs any good?
Third Day's all right, though I'm not crazy about 'em. I like "Cry Out to Jesus."
