Hey! Does anyone have a Macintosh computer? I do!! It seems though that I am one of the few Mac faithful. Does anyone here think that Windows is better than Mac? Debate me on it. Macs rule.

What's pc? I thought that it stood for personal computer. All i know is what windows and mac are, not pcs. Is PC a third kind or something? [glow=violet,2,300]~Misty:)[/glow]

You are right Misty PC does stand for personal computers, but I think what Chickenwing major is trying to say is he likes Windows better then Macs.
And I totally back him up, the graphics are much better on Windows plus you can buy better upgrades for Windows and the computers are cheaper than Macs.
On the other side though Macs do have a better desktop theme, but if you get Style XP for Windows you can get the Mac theme for Windows. Pretty cool huh!

All right, Mac is technically a power PC. A PC is a Windows or Mac. It's just that Windows are usually reffered to as PCs. Titanian, I know your hang up with Macs. The one that you had was not a good experience. Of course, compared to it, the Windows are much better, and even compared to Mac Operating System (OS) 9.2, Windows XP is better. BUT, with Mac OS 10.3 (OS PANTHER) it is a COMPLETELY different world. In fact it is a lot like Windows, but, the graphics for the icons and such are sooooo much better, and believe me, because I've spent a fair amount of time on both kinds of computers. In Windows, can you talk to your computer and tell it what to do such as :"Computer, open document ___" then it does it? On the new Macs you can. Also, Macs have the fastest personal computer speed on the planet, the G5 motor. It's REALLY expensive, but I have a G4 which is equal to the Pentium IIII processor. Yeah, there's not as many games on Macs, but that is all about to change. MacSoft is turning Windows games into Mac games, faster and faster. TD

Hey man,
You know how you were saying the graphic icons are so much better? Well I put them on my Windows. There is a theme someone made that uses the exact same icons as Panther.
Also Macs are late comers I mean they just came out with a computer with a decent price, but it stinks compared to the rests. There was an interview with the analysists that use macs and they say that Macs need to hurry up because everybody is coming out with such new stuff.

What are you talking about, Titanian. I think that I would call the G5 processor which has the FASTEST speed of any personal computer being "up-to-date." Maybe Mac doesn't churn out new computers constantly because they actually try to make all of them good unlike when you can occasionaly run across a trashy Windows computer. The Macs are more expensive because of the reasons I mentioned above and because so many people use Windows (and Bill Gates is rich.) Also, surround sound with Mac speakers . . . oh, heaven. And Itunes, Mac created Itunes and now everyone is using it. Oh yeah, the Ipod, everyone's using that too. My Mac is a self-contained unit, so I don't have to mess with a tower (it's still better and more expensive then many Windows tower computers.) Oh yeah, glad to hear that you're using the Panther icons, buddy One more thing. Microsoft has come out with Virtual PC for the Mac. That makes it so you can do ANYTHING that a Windows can do on a Mac, but you still have the Mac, too. That's what I want. A nice compromise. You can also hook up a network with a Windows and a Mac. Does Windows have a virtual Mac or something? I haven't heard of it.

Hey TD!!!!! I do agree that IPODs ARE AWESOME!!!! I dont have one but ive seen and heard about them and they are cool!!!! I do have a mp3/cd player and a just a mp3 but the ipod is best... and another a normal person cannot work on a mac example: TD probably would not take his computer apart to fix it but would have to pay a computer repair guy(and its hard to find a mac repair guy) $$$$$$$. While on a regual PC(Dell, ibm, HP, and so on) is color coded and a complete moran can pretty much replace parts and fix it themselfs. The fastest computer isnt even a PC or a MAC, im not for sure what type it is but a japenese guy made it with fastest processor ever made yet.

Alright TD so you have a point about the virtual PC, but does your mac automatically get online when you turn your computer on to see if there are any updates for the softwares you are using. My computer is always up to date because of Windows Updates which automaticallys searches through my drives, finds what softwares hasn't been updated and updates them.
Can your Mac do that?

Yeah, actually it can. The only problem is I don't have DSL like you so I have to dial up before I can check for updates. Every time I turn it on, it tries to, but, of course, I'm not connected.

Well, Chickenwing, I know I have, (I'm thinking about deleting that post) but due to the current state of diplomatic relations, I can not, at this time, reveal my true identity. That's all I can say at the moment. Also, on Macs, when you want to download a picture, all you do is drag it onto the desktop. With Windows, you have to actually click download. What a waste of time

Okay here is something for you.
How do you put HTMLs on the web? does Macs come with some type of program? Windows has been named the most user-friendly when it comes to programming on the web.

HOLD ON!!
What do you mean? On Macs, you can type HTML code anywhere you want to. Is that what you meant? I thought you meant uploading it onto the site.

No I was just pointing out that there is also easy access to make HTMLs too. There is also an easier way to upload them I just haven't had the oppurtunity to learn that yet. I am taking a HTML class to learn how to make a website from scratch.
