Have you read the best-selling book, " The Purpose Driven Life, " by Rick Warren? If so, what did you think of it? Could it actually change the world, as some critics say? Why or why not?

No, I wouldn't read it as it seems like it is just repeating the help texts you get in the bible.

I do not think it is that great a book either. Actually, I never read the book but I saw the video and went through a group devotion workbook on it. It is true in the fact that we are designed to worship God, but I didn't like it that he kept on switching his Bible versions. Like he used ones I had never even heard of, and it seemed that he used whichever one suited his purpose best. I would prefer more credible, steady scriptures there, although, again, I am not saying the book/concepts were not Biblical. There were a few other little things.....I don't know. It's good, but not such a big deal. It can't and won't change the world. The only book that will ever do that is the Bible itself.

I haven't read the book, but I have seen recordings of Rick Warren doing things on TV and whatnot. I don't think it will change the world.

I think Rick Warren is trying to do in a book what is really between every individual person and God. Sure, it's a good idea, and it works for some people, I'm not buying into it.... And yes, I ahve read parts of the book.

I actually think it is kind of sad how so many people, especially Christians, who have praised this book had no idea of what their "purpose in life" was before. Maybe I take my Christiann upbringing for granted, but as Friesenland hinted at, if people would read the Bible they would find all they need to know about their purpose in it.
