True- depends on what you want to read- Tolkien, I believe, had a more complex story- it truly was not written for kids, whereas Lewis's was for any and all! They were the first 'big' books I read... sigh. Nostalgia....

Hardy boys rule!!!! Well- some of the stories were lame, and they would be vegetables, but still... oooh, boxcar children, I LOVED those!!!

idk y i didn't like Nancy Drew as much, but I definitely loved the ones where it was both Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys

Yep- but no, the series were NOT written by the same person- perhaps the same PEOPLE. They were written by teams of ghost authors. Carolyn Keene was a pseudonym, and she sold the rights after book eleven. Franklin W. Dixon was also a pseudonym, but he started with a businessman who had good ideas and no time to write, so he hired others to write for him.
And I am sure no one wants to read the whole history of the hardy boys. Suffice it to say, after reading eighty percent of ALL Hadry boys, I can tell where one author begins and ends. Fun!
