MercyMe has a new album coming out April 25th, entitled Coming Up To Breathe. The album is supposed to depart from MercyMe's adult contemporary style and lean more towards rock (not hard rock, but something more upbeat). The lead single for the album is already playing on Christian radio stations ("So Long Self").
I've always liked MercyMe (they're probably one of my favorite groups, right up there with Switchfoot) and I'm pretty anxious to see what this "new sound" of theirs is made of.

I like MercyMe as well...although I've thought they've needed to go rockier. Yay!

I've had the same concerns. Hopefully, they'll drift a little more towards rock music with this album.

The lead singer's got an amazing voice. "I Can Only Imagine" was a lovely song, but yes, in general, they could add some oomph to their playing.

I disagree, partly because I don't like rockier kinds of music. I mean, a little is okay, and I like rythm and beat, but I don't like it when it gets to the point of sounding like the rest of the worlds music save the words....but I know you'll don't share that opinion so I'll be quiet
