AWESOME!!!!! It feels so wierd cause there are like no people around here that actually sail. well, I suppose there are a few but I sure don't know most of 'em. that's neat that you do though.

Nope, never tried a yacht. Just a sailboat and motorboat. I can imagine the peacefulness you're talking about though...ahh. LOL

Yes, peacefulness is one great aspect of sailing, but I must say I enjoy the tension that a strong wind brings on. a bit of stress maybe but it's worth it. to be standin' sideways sometimes. Anyways who would want a motor boat to begin with. after you drive it once it's always the same old thing. with sailing things are always unexpected and different. never a dull moment. (well sometimes there is but that's in that peaceful time, so it's not classified as dull exactly) I can't describe the fear, tension, adrenaline, and exitement of a good coming about or accidental jibe every once in a while. That and sailing at 4 am is awesome too.

sounds fun! when i was on a sailboat, i thought it was alittle boring to be honest,(thats why i like moter boats better) but i would like to try it when is was more windy and the water more.... bouncy? wavy? how do you say it.....tempestuous? or more alive. but, i agree. i love the peacefullness of it.

that reminds me of wwrafting we went with a youth group, and our raft got separated from the rest of the group, i mean, we were MILES behind and there were no adults in our raft... it was just us teens.... we had NO control of the raft-we got stuck on trees, and every single rock sticking out of the river we got stuck on. we went under water several times, and our raft sailed down stream whith out us. luckily it got stuck on a rock ( as usual) so were able to get it, but not before we had to wade through waist high waters to get to it ahhhhhh! but the rapids were fun, and all in all, we had a good time, but when ya look back ya realize that we could have been in huge danger. its funny when you think about it

I like sailing, although I've only done it a couple of times. You all are right; the quietness of the boat combined with the exhilarating movement generated by the wind is lovely to be in!
Also, does anyone like kayaking? I love it. Especially in the open sea.

Emm we sail on the south west coast of Scotland- the bit sheltered from the Atlantic by Ireland. On a few occassions we gone further north on the coast to places like Mull- Scotland has the best islands for sailing!!!! I don't do Kayaking Falklands but I do tandem canoeing which is so gd! For my silver duke of edinburgh 6 of us went on a 3day canoeing expedition on a canal it was really good fun and a real acheivment for us. I think we went about 50kilometres in all which isnt too bad considering we had only had two long weekends of training ever in canoes!
