in mississppi, i met lots of incredible ppl who had stories of miraculous deliverance and heartbreaking sadness. one man walking behind his house the day after katrina found a dead 2 month old baby in a tree. and yet in another place we were told a story of how a family forced onto their roof by the rising water were saved when a boat floated by right at their level! they picked up like 16 other stranded ppl too. they just kept floating in the dark until they hit a building. they broke in for shelter and realized that it was the church that a pastor had been telling them to attend! wow. god works in mysterious (and rather ironic) ways! the sights we saw were amazing too. my sister and i got to go in to a house who's owners left before the storm and never came back. it was completely untouched,(except by katrina) and we were able to see exactly what this storm could do. a refridgerator completely turned around and flipped on to a counter. the mess from the roof was so bad that we couldn't even really get in. the owners must have really been in a hurry because they left food, pictures and keepsakes there, for us to find. i've never seen anything like it. all of mississippi looked like....like hiroshima. no exxageration. keep praying for them!
