I was just wonderin how u guys deal with stuff like that- obviously people can have their own views but I'm still unsure on the issue lol! B

Remember to go to the Bible for help. Try and think "what would Jesus do?" It is interesting, however; I was reading St. Augustine's City of God, where he utterly refutes Paganism as something completely ridiculous and started by long-dead men and demons. But this teacher obviously has not heard the half of Christian philosophy to think that God is an old man in the sky. Read in the Bible and learn what God says about himself (e.g. Psalms), relate it to your own experiences with God, and speak up. Ask God to give you strength to stand up for Him, and He will guide you.

Yes, I would reccommend prayer, bimbettes. I would also like to give you this quote that helps me whenever people denegrate my beliefs: It's better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you aren't.
Just stick to defending your faith, no matter what. God will see you through this debate and will give you the strength and words to overcome your opponents.

Some encouragement from James 1: 2-4:
"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have it's full effect, that you might be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."

Yes, I've had some experience with Paganism. Probably not even half as much as some of you, but I do have advice: Stand up for what you believe in! If your classmates are talking trash about God, stand up to them, debate them, tell them the Good News. You want to know what'll happen....they'll think you're crazy. Then they could even go as far as to threaten you (oh boy, I've had THAT happen to me). You must stand firm, though. If you are unwavering, you will eventually earn their respect which leads to them listening to you more and giving you an oppurtunity to preach. Remember, we're JESUS FREAKS....eccentrics (definition: away from the ordinary) and bought by His blood.

Yes; they will, in the end, respect you if you stand up for what you believe in. But the important thing is to pray, not just for yourself and the ability to speak up, but for them. Pray to God to give them open hearts and grace to accept what you are saying. Remember, we have a guaranteed place in Heaven through faith and the blood of Christ. Feel sorry for them, because they have no hope. I once talked to this 11-year old boy (when I was 11 too) who said his parents told him that after death there was just blackness and nothing. Really, we have to lead them to Jesus! Think about what they would suffer if they didn't! It's REALLY important to share the Gospel with them. Please, please pray for God to open their eyes and let them see the beautiful Truth of Jesus Christ!

Try and think "what would Jesus do? Die on a cross, either that or "save" everyone...

Oh no, he did much more than that! Jesus is God, and he gave us the gospels to testament not only his death, burial, and resserection, but also his life previous to that. He went through everything we go through - he knows how it feels to be human, and we can turn to him for comfort and strength and a godly example whenever we open to those books. ( or the whole Bible, in fact, because it was inspired by him

The bible may have been inspired by him, but that dosnt mean its word-for-word true.

Why wouldn't it be? God can't tell a lie.

well, the KJV ( the first entire Bible written in English) was translated by learned men. Whenever they had a verse that had to be changed so it would grammatically make sense, they put a little thingy next to it ( sorry I don't know the name! :-\ ) Also, whenever they had to ADD a word to make grammatical sense, they put that word in italics. They were very honest. As for the people who actually wrote the Bible, "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." 2 Peter 1:21
