As some of you may or may not know, my life passion and calling is to be a track athlete. Now, that involves a lto of intense practice and training. Now, problem: I've sprained my ankle about eight times in the past three years - it was getting to be like a chronic spraining thing, hurting all the time, and really getting in the way of my training. So, by recommendation of my school's sports trainer, Chris, I recently went to get it x-rayed. I brought him the film, and he took one look and said, "That is NOT normal." Apparrently, one of the bones isn't even ATTACHED to anything, and it's a break that looks like it's been there for quite some time. I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon on Friday to figure out what needs to be done, and to say the least I'm worried sick that I'm looking at surgery and a long recovery time. As of right now I'm still training, and kinda just dealing witht he pain, but that's not exactly a long term solution. Any prayers right now would be greatly appreciated.

You've been in my prayers, Nen! I hope you don't have to have a big surgery (or even a little one!).

I saw the Orthopedic Surgeon today, and here's the deal: the ankle isn't BROKEN (aside from these mini frature things on the bottom of the bone), but it's chronically unstable. What's probably causing the pain is scar tissue fromt he numerous sprains that's pinched between the bones.
SO, now I"m waiting on an appointent to get an MRI, just to make sure there's nothing else wrong, and then, most probably, arthroscopic surgery to remove the scar tissue. After that, I won't be able to use my foot AT ALL for two weeks - as in, crutches, elevation whenever possible - and then, another six weeks of wearing one of those big boot things.
To say the least, that'll really get in the way of my training. I know God has a reason for this, but I'm having trouble coming to terms with it right now.... I've flipped in the past when I had to use crutches just for a day, and not being able to do things is... well, it'll be a trying time. :/ If you could find some time to pray for me, I'd really aprreciate it.
