What is your opinion on corporal punishment? Should it be allowed in homes? What about the schools? Does it help more than hurt?

I don't know... I survived!
But there's a difference between spanking and beating, and I have seen some parents cross that line on a regular basis.

my take is that if its administered lovingly in the home, then it wouldn't need to be administered in the classroom. I think it's Biblical. But, as steelsheen said, sometimes parents are not loving enough to do it the right way, and they take it too far.

Proverbs 13:24 He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.

Proverbs 13:24 He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him. The bible wants us to hit our kids with rods?

It's referring to discipline.

Yes, because, according to one verse, doing that will save our child's soul from hell. I don't think this means that they will be saved, but will have a better chance of living for God.

I agree... when it's done LOVINGLY, for DISCIPLINE, it's perfectly fine. But that doesn't mean that your parents should be able to just whack you whenever you make them mad, or threaten to hit you whenever you don't to things 100% their way. It's a method of teaching your child that they've done something wrong. As soon as kids reach a certain age, I don't think it should be allowed anymore, either.
