Oil, the Bipartisan Disaster!
I've got special news...the Republicans and the Democrats on every branch of government have gotten together on an issue important to the health and wealth of the American people. OIL! That's right--black gold, Texas tea; oil. One problem, though: they've both royally botched the solution and have sold our souls to oil sheiks in the Middle East.
My fellow Americans, this is a crisis. I believe I speak for most of you when I say that I am sick of this predicament that we've put ourselves in. Absolutely sick of it!! It's time for our government to start taking care of our problems here at home.
Here's a thought! Let's stop sending money to the Middle East where people want nothing more than to kill us. I don't know why we're giving them the complete and total control of our economy. All they have to do is pull one embargo stunt like they did in the 70's and our economy is in the tank.
What to do? Drill in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge (aka a frozen wasteland which is the home of...um...snow). There is enough oil in ANWR to last America quite a while. Let's make sure, though, that there aren't holes in the pipe like there are today. Next step--drill in every other state in the nation, no matter what indian laws are in the way. Studies have shown that we've got lots of oil still left to pump in the grand U.S. of A. It will improve our economy, the oil supply, and help gas prices go down.
Our government has failed us. $3.00 a gallon in most parts of the country is TOO MUCH TO PAY! There are solutions, but we, apparently, would rather not implement them. When the average American family is worried about turning on their car because it will use gas ...something is horribly wrong. When families can't afford to drive their kids to school, church, or work, you know you've hit rock bottom.
Perhaps we should yank every government official in Washington out of their fancy limos, stick them in an Oldsmobile, force them to pay for their own gas, and see what happens.
A message to Democrats and Republicans everywhere: Fix this problem or face the wrath of the American people! We've had enough of you're games and excuses, now do something!
