HeartoG: Well, we're going to have to debate this in the Christianity/Catholicism thread. I wouldn't compare ourselves to them, they being very very wrong on a lot of things (no offence anybody). What is there to debate about? I think you and I both agree that cults are messed up! HeartoG: But my point is, its the ceremonies that make it a mans job. Without the ceremonies there's not much of a reason left to keep woman out. This would be like your religious principles telling you woman shouldn't be CEO of any company or have any responsibility what so ever. If just looking out for other people and being a leader is enough to make it solely a man's job, then woman period shouldn't have any responsibilities anywhere. Well, what about the example of a man being the head of a house? The man was set up by God to be head of the house, (although in this day and age what with divorce and everything we have severly twisted that up. Widows, of course, can't really help it.) and if a woman isn't even supposed to be the head of a house, how then should she be the head of a church? HeartoG: I'm not convinced of what I just said. ;D Well, personally I'm finding this study very integrating. I'm learning stuff too. I didn't know all that clergy stuff I put up in my last post! Oh and sorry I can't figure out my quoter today!
