www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10318347I wonder how many times has it happened...Saddam Hussein is refusing to appear at his trial and prolonging the session as much as possible...it's beginning to look like the Slobodan Milosevich trial. I bet Saddam knows that if the trial gets running, he will invariably be condemned to death. Now he is running through every legal loophole he can find to escape punishment, even though he has declared that he is not afraid to die. How can you get more despicable? But I realize now, after typing that, we also need to pray fervently for him and his kind. Right now he needs Jesus more than ever. Falklands

It's the blatant hypocrisy I don't like, as well as the notion that he has murdered millions of his own people and is now trying to manipulate the legal system to stay alive, all while claiming to be honourable ("I don't fear death"). I wasn't referring to "his kind" in a racist way, but I was referring to all who don't have Jesus in their lives.

I believe that Falklands was referring to his moral kind, not to his parentage.

Saddam proclaims that he will not show up at his trial, and yet, he always does...
He's just a flaming idiot. Seriously, if he doesn't get the death penalty, some rogue Iraqi guard or an Iraqi citizen will go in and kill him. One thing about the trial I HATE though is those voice distorters that the witnesses use. UGHHHH that REALLY freaks me out. It's like the one thing that actually strikes real fear into my heart....the sound of an arabic woman's voice on a voice distorter. I mean, it sends chills down my back...ickkk...scary stuff, man.

Well I don't listen to the trial so I wouldn't know about that, but clearly the guy is guilty and deserves to die.

Yup. He's just trying to obstruct justice now....but justice will prevail.

it's the same with all dictators and leader masterminds. sure they get extremist followers, but they are not themselves extremists. they will and do back down, because they are smart enough to know *their* cause isn't worth dying for

First off i don't beleve that anyone deserves to die but what he did was nasty and he deserves to be punished and i think he is trying to make himself feel that you does not fear death rather than make us beleve it.

Well, actually we ALL deserve to die, and we all will, sometime or another! But evil like this has to be put an end to.
