What do you all think about plastic surgery? I think on a cosmetic basis it's wrong and a sad reflection on today's society- i.e. the media has promoted a perfect image that we feel we must comply to.

i agree with you that the media has made this "perfect image" that we should all be like and that using plastic surgery to get there is wrong, but i think that if used correctly plastic surgery could be very useful.
I had a neighbor that was in a NASCAR car wreck and his whole body was burnt, but because of plastic surgery he was able to repair a lot of his body. So i think that although it is bad in the use of a "perfect image" the core use of it is very useful and helpful

Remember to do all things to the Glory of God. If you were born with a reasonably ugly face, it doesn't really matter. God is going to provide for you in any case. But yes, it is completely fine to use this marvel to repair your own body after injury.

Yeh this is why i said cosmetic uses were wrong- i meant like ppl who dont neccessarily need it gettin it- i agree very much that it is put wel to use on ppl after accidents have scarred them or similar.

And I present a dilemma - is putting any kind of makeup on okay? Or is all forms of it bad and disrespectful?

Makeup....not my department, lol.
However, I agree with y'all on Plastic Surgery. Really, you don't even look any better afterwards...just "plasticy". As a corrective method, it's great, and a marvelous invention.

Makeup, now that's my department! LOL, I agree with you on the plastic surgery. Back to makeup though, I've always wondered about the verses in Corithians that say women are suposed to keep quiet in the church and be sober, etc.... not braiding their hair or wearing jewlrey, etc....I always wondered if that applied today.

I reallly don't think those verses still apply today. Things were different back then. I, personally, don't think God cares if we use makeup, if we wear jewelry, or braid our hair etc. But I'm not really sure either.

I've always thought plastic surgery was good if your face was ruined, etc.
Makeup? If God tells you no, then no! If God says it's up to you, well then, choose wisely! I personally go all natural, although there have been days I wished I had some coverup... EEP!

lol since i'm a guy i obviously have no talk in the make up department, but i agree with Misty that certain things were meant for certain times, and i think makeup and braiding ur hair is for those older days......personally i don't think that girls need to wear makeup, but that may just be me.

Well, for guy's there's the issue of gel ;D and even (I'd never EVER do this) guy perfume! That's going a bit too far. For make-up on girls I don't really care most of the time. Too much of the time, though, they put on TOO much makeup...

yeah personally i think that a lot of times girls look worse when they put on makeup....but i'm not saying it's bad or anything just that i don't think it's necessary
