This is a thread dedicated to debating discussing, and remembering World War Two. Talk about any topics related to the subject, and have fun doing so, but just take time to remember all those that died during that war. They should be on all of our minds as we discuss the greatest and costliest war in the Twentieth Century.
Have fun!

SUBJECT I: THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN
I think that since no one else has posted here, I might as well start it off. My questions will hopefully be answered, or else I'll be talking to myself, and that wouldn't be pretty!
What if the Germans had been victorious in the Battle of Britain? In my view, the entire course of the war would have changed. Without Britain as a staging point for the Normandy invasions, and without it as another war front to the German military, the war would have at least been longer, bloodier, and harder fought than the real thing played out.
I also believe that Germany could have won the Battle of Britain, if only they would have focused on military targets instead of attacking civilian centers. At one point, they had the RAF beat, until Hitler and Goring got the great idea to massacre British civilians in what became infamously known as "The Blitz."

I agree also Armany. The war would have been longer and the Nomandy invasions would have been harder to pull off.

Indeed it was, GDL. Actually, my grandfather fought in Italy and was also stationed in Japan, post-war, also.
