Catholics...ick ;D ;D ;D ;D
I absolutely hate denominations and the principles behind denominations. We're just looking for more ways to become hyphenated and segregated. Anyway, I go to a Methodist church, but I'm a very charismatic-pentecostal-evangelical-type-of-person.

Its like all the faiths relating OT Abraham, we all worship God but people call themselves, Muslims Jews Christians. Why? It is like Cars, All Cars do the same thing, you drive one to take you places, the difference is the image, speed limit, engine, and colour of the car.

I diagree with you Friesenland in that, while Jews may worship the same God, they certianly are not Christians. Neither are Muslims - in fact they don't even worship God, they worship Allah.

Sorry I was actually meaning to compare different Chrisitian denominations not Jews, Muslims and Christians

I've no problem with people who believe differently than I do about portions of the bible in different denominations...we're all Christians. However, all demoninations do is split up the Body of Christ. We should be united as one church instead of catholics hating baptists, methodists arguing with presbyterians, etc, etc. We all believe in JESUS, right? We should unify and start acting like it.

Hey I don't hate Baptists! lol Agreed, but it'd be impossible, cause there's so many subtle differences that would drive people apart - I mean, I don't HATE Baptists, for example, but I disagree with some of the things they do - tolerantly, of course. And I'm sure it's the same vice versa. And it's probably the same between any denominations.

Yes it is the same . We've had quite alot of debates here (particularly the Catholic/Christian debate, which got to the point of being repititious and just like ugh). I agree and disagree with you TD. I think denominations should all get along, but I really think it would be impossible for us to be united as one church. I think the beauty of the Bible is that there are so many different ways you can interpret it, whether right or not, and to conform everybodys ideas into one melee of doctrine would be disastrous. I'm not sure that was exactly what you meant when you said to be unified though, TD

I think there is a common ground that should be found before we (all denominations) are destroyed.
Although, according to Revelations, it's inevitable.......

I think the things that all who are Christians should have is 1) God in their hearts as their personal saviour. 2) Belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God, that he died on the cross, was buried, and rose again the third day, and that through that process he paid the price for our sins. 3) Belief That the whole Bible is the holy word of God and every word is true, 4) Belief in the Trinity/Holy Spirit, 5) Belief that Jesus Christ will return someday and that those who are saved will either be taken up into heaven or rise from the dead, and 6) Belief that we should live our lives in service to God, as those that have been bought by his blood and purchased with a price. ~
What do you all think? Did I add something unecessary or forget something important?

That we're all born with a sinful nature and there's no way to save ourselves. Other than that, you nailed it.

Cheers for Geberia and Nen.
I usually also insert that there must be signs of change after salvation.
