So TD, tell me: are you seriously going to try and be President of the USA?
If so, I'd like your opinions and solutions to lots of America's problems/policies, if you were president right now. ;D
1. Immigration policy? How to control illegal immigration?
2. War in Iraq? How to control the insurgents?
3. War on Terrorism? How to fight Al-Qaeda?
4. Massive Budget Deficit? How to repair it?
5. Pension policy? What to do?
I'll ask more questions when I can think of them ;D

Yes, I'm very serious about being President of these United States. The only drawback, in my mind, is the kind of mess it would put my family through. We'd never be able to just casually stroll into Wal-Mart, you know? As for your questions: 1. Immigration policy? How to control illegal immigration? Illegal immigration--an interesting topic that has begun to drive a wedge through the Republican party. I disagree with President Bush's workers program. I believe that giving illegals the jobs that "Americans don't want" as Bush has said, is a reward for breaking our laws. At what other time in history has it been legal to break a law? I also believe (and I'm one of the few who does) that giving Hispanics these jobs will create a resentful underclass. Think about it--kids will grow up thinking that ONLY illegals and Mexicans can clean toilets and that they, as Americans, are too good to do it. For all we know, terrorists could be crossing the border along with the hard-working Mexicans. In a post 9/11 world, we MUST improve our security. I'm all for legal immigration, heck, make the laws easier; I'm just saying KEEP IT LEGAL. 2. War in Iraq? How to control the insurgents? The war in Iraq is a good thing. In record time, we have gone in, overthrown a powerful and oppressive regime, supressed much of the insurgency, and begun to establish a working democracy with a very low number of lives lost. Of course every son or daughter of this nation that has been killed is a tragic death, but if you look at it in a historical perspective, we've never done so well. It took so much longer to quell Japan and Germany post WWII. We must stay in, and I think we will stay in (thanks to el Presidente), and it will be a success. I'm only dissapointed that the squeamish American people haven't had the guts to see this one through. That's very disheartening and is worriesome if we ever have to face Iran or North Korea--those will not be as easy as Iraq. Look, Saddam the butcher is going to be put to death, Iraqis are free, and a SMALL MINORITY of the people are protesting. Again, let's put this in perspective. The insurgents are a problem, yes, but nobody seems to be focusing on all the good that's happening in Iraq. How to fix the insurgency problem--be more aggressive! We should be in there pounding away at them until they are all dead...I want to see more air raids and more door to door fighting until they are no longer a problem that is over the Iraqi Security force's head. 3. War on Terrorism? How to fight Al-Qaeda? I believe that Iraq is a part of the War on Terror. I think that we're doing great in the war on terror (we haven't been attacked since 9/11 and most experts agree that by this time we should have been.) I believe that al-Qaeda will be trying to make a last stand in Iraq. Sure, the war on terror won't end there, but its outcome could be determined there. They don't want the seedlings of democracy in their haven of the Middle East, so they're going to do everything they can to stop it from happening. As for Osama, he's no real threat now. Pre-9/11, al-Qaeda was a terrorist group with Osama at the top of the food chain, but now he's no threat; just a big guy with a beard. It's like going after Boardwalk (in Monopoly) when you already own the rest of the board. No biggie. 4. Massive Budget Deficit? How to repair it? Unfortunately, this problem could be around when I'm President. Prez Bush is spending like a drunken Democrat (what can I say, he's his father's son.) Sure, I understand that we have a war going on and that the war will drain some resources, but when you spend millions of dollars on a bridge in Alaska that a total of 50 people go on, you've gone too far. (Kudos to my homeboy, Senator Tom Coburn of OK who raised a stink about this bill!!) The way to repair it?--stop spending! Cut pork!! Veto spending bills! I personally am in favor of a Constitutional amendment to give the President the "line-item veto" where he can veto certain lines of the bill instead of having to cut the whole bill because of one piece of pork he doesn't like. 5. Pension policy? What to do? You're going to have to clarify this one....pension for whom? Sorry!

So what steps will you take to become Prez.? Cause I mean normally, they start off with being a senator, congressman, or something.

I'm thinking State Legislator, then Governor, THEN President.
I'm wary of being a Senator (or Congressman) because EVERYONE can find something they don't like in a long legislative record (example: John Kerry). Plus, being Governor gives you an oppurtunity to be the executive.

Well, i dont think anyone would know about your missouri relatives unless they caught us together.
As for the rest of it...i would probably vote for you if i was some random person who knew nothing and was looking for a candidate to vote for and i would vote for you if i a person big into politics.
Although i was against the war in iraq when it was started i do want us to finish the job and quit trying to chicken-out in the end. However, comparing it to germany and japan is a little of the top since we pretty much just walked into iraq and took over. Right now we are more in the conqueror controlling and people who do not want to be conqueror unlike WWII were we were trying to overthrow the axis of evil. and thats with the "drunken democrat" remark...not following it :?

Yea, I liked John Kerry's take on it.
"This war was the wrong war at the wrong place at the wrong time, and we're going to finish it!" Get a backbone John. If your going to run for president, at least stand for something.
But maybe that's just me (yep, I'm still bitter about him).

And the Democratic chairman Howard just had to go and ruin the Democrat's credibility by saying "the idea that we are going to win this war is just plain wrong!" He'd already made statements contradicting that. Yeah, I definitely don't want this guy as president.

We used to have several more liberal members (see: maatshalz ;D). Now, we're pretty much a ideologically united region, at least on this MB.

How so? We seem to have ideological differences on this MB, actually (biggie: Christianity&Catholicism). But I can't say anything for the actual region, seeing as I've left.
