Disgraceful.
Bob Novak said recently in a column that prominent Democrats are planning on impeaching the President. After the mid-terms, of course. "Why?" you ask. Well, because he lied us into war, of course using "faulty intel." The same faulty intelligence, the Dems seem to forget, that Bill Clinton used when he lobbed a few missles into Iraq to stop their "weapons programs." Oh, speak of the devil, Cinton was in the United Arab Emirates (yes, in the middle east) stating that it was a "mistake" for America to go into Iraq.
This whole situation got me to thinking--A former American President uses the prestigue and power that comes along with his retirement to bash American efforts during a time of war and give aid and comfort to the enemy (which is treason). He is, of course, a part of the two-faced Democrats who said "Saddam is a threat" now say that Bush "lied" and should be impeached. In fact, John Kerry said, "If you don't believe Saddam is a threat with weapons of mass destruction, then don't vote for me." Poll ratings for the popularity of the war are slipping, as are Bush's popularity numbers. Of course, we're going to win the war in Iraq (the elections in December are a big turning point) but is it one of our last wars?
Will America be able to stomach a full-scale "War on Terror" if the time comes? Will we be able to stand against the Iranians when they aim their nuclear bombs at Israel or against the North Koreans when Miami is in their sights? Maybe so...maybe not. America has toppled a regime, secured much of the peace, and begun to establish a Democracy in the course of less than 4 years. This speed is unprecedented, to say the least! When we can accomplish all of this in so little time yet the "public" wants us out soon and thinks the whole thing is Bush's folly, then we have truly reached a new low. When Americans can be stupid enough to believe the propaganda and lies that are seeping through the television screens and newspapers about this war, then we're scraping the bottom of the barrel. We don't even have the guts to see this Iraqi war through. Just disgraceful. We accomplished much less in 4 years in WWII. In fact, we were LOSING that war at some times and look how it changed the course of history for the better!
Unless Americans wise up and begin to realize what's really going on in the world (we have people wanting to whallop our heads off on Al-Jazeera) then we're doomed as a nation. Unless Americans can put a brave face on and begin to see things through, then we truly can not last the test of time.
