Do any of your guys' schools have indecent curriculums? I mean, do you guys read or get taught things that you, as a Christian, find offensive? I recently experienced an episode in my school that really got me worried. As a summer reading assignment, we had to read a collection of short stories. Well, once I got the book, it turned out that the thing was just full of crappy literature. There was rampant swearing, widespread usage of the Lord's Name in vain, and even sexual crud in the book! It turned out that the book was simply a modern edition of a previous book that was OK, but still, until I found that out, I was worried sick. I ended up being allowed to read another book that is actually decent, but because of that book, many other kids enrolled in the summer reading program are being exposed to that sinful literature and, as probably non-believers, are being directly affected by its messages. Also, at my high school last year, there was a petition that was passed around for the creation of a gay-straight alliance. Anyone else run into anything like that?

Well, being homeschooled, not really. But my friends that go to public school have. One girl wrote a report about some famous person who was a Christian. Becuase she put things in about his faith, her teacher made her re-write the report and she got detention. But yeah, there's some SCARY stuff going on in pub.school...

Wow, that's REALLY scary! I hope that it never comes to that.
Stuff like that ticks me off pretty bad. Getting detention for including one's personal religious beliefs?! That's just downright stupid.
Did your friend contact the ACLU (just kidding)? But seriously, your friend could talk to someone at the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which is a Christian legal organization. They might be able to help, but seeing that they are a national group, they may not pay attention to a small case. I'd hope that they would.
BTW, the leader of the ACLJ, Jay Sekulow, is on TBN and even Fox News Channel from time to time, so you guys may have heard of him.

Yeah, a big reason why my parents pulled me out of public schools is because they made us read bad books and watch bad movies.

It's stupid, isn't it? *Imitates bored teacher voice* "Billions and billions of years ago, the earth was nothing, just a big caotic mess. Then, one day, BOOM! A big bang happened. And here we are today!" YUCK!

Maybe I will tell my friend about the ACLJ, Armany, if an incident like that ever happens again.

Okey-dokey, just a helpful suggestion. I've seen them do some things regarding Christians in schools before.

But the worst thing about public school is, in my opinion, the swearing, cussing, and just plain nastiness that kids like in the 4th grade are using! It's sad! And plus how messed up the high schoolers lives are. One out of four girls in my town school is a prostitute.

That's not good. There are a lot of kids that are getting pregnant in high school where I live.
The cussing and nastiness issue is awful. I experience that too. I don't know why these kids use language like that. I think it has a lot to do with how they're raised.

Yep, kids heard their parents cuss, then they go to school and hear their friends cuss. Then they think its cool (which it is cool in the mind of the average non-believer), so then they cuss.
I know! It's sooooo horrible how so many girls (especially girls at public school) are getting pregnant. Like I used to know this one girl. She was my age, and I just recently heard that she is pregnant. We really need to pray for kids at our schools or even our friends.

Yeah, cause even some Christians can be vulnerable to that sort of thing.
