That's a good game.
The best board game I've ever played is Settlers of Catan. I think everyone likes it just because its different. It kinda seems like in America we just play Monopoly spin-offs (like Life). But Settlers originated in Germany, so its different.

I'm not familiar with that game. I still LOVE Risk, though!

I'm the Geek who said Scrabble. That and Boggle and Cranium are my favorite board games, if I must play.

I didn't know you liked Boggle so much or else I would've had like a tourment w/ you by now. I love that game! My piano teacher has Settlers, and she says its the best game she's ever played. And has anyone here every played Telephone Pictionary? It's really fun

well, the way i play monopoly, i wheal and deal, till i get a monopoly, then pow! lol, i put all of my remaining money into that monopoly. put hotels on it and stuff. it so worth it, but the trick is staying alive when you only have one dollar left. you hope someone lands on your hotel very soon! lol

Risk, better know as Luck, never did much for me. It was really annoying to see my army with trillions of soldiers beaten by a tiny country with farmers holding pitchforks. The little strategy there is in it is overwhelmed by the fact that the defending dice are loaded.
A game I want to get is Axis and Allies. It looks pretty cool. Anyone played it?

I've played it; it's more diverse and interesting, but it still has lots of dice rolls. If you want pure skill and no luck in a game, try Diplomacy. It's based in pre-WW1 Europe and has no dice rolls at all. It's got a lot of player communication, battles, working together, the works. I haven't played it, however. My bro has ;D

I saw that, I wanted to get it too. But my parents looked at the choices:
Diplomacy: Stab the other guy in the back before he stabs you! Settlers: Peacefully settle an island
I tried telling them I'd just play video games instead, but it didn't work ;D. So I got Settlers (which is still probably better the Diplomacy, or at least, that's what the experts say. Kinda sad there are expert board game people).

Wait. Maybe Risk is OK.
I just played a couple of games of Risk over the last two days (true, one of them was interrupted by my absence, and the other one the opponent resigned in the face of defeat).
The Forces of Mordor slowly but surely crushed all resistance in Middle Earth HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!! (it was LOTR edition).

Yes, Chess is good. I play online (World Chess Network), and I think I've been playing since about five too.

Ok, this is funny, Risk is the most popular game on these forums....World domination and NS...could it have something in common?
Monopoly is re-making their game! Go to monopoly.com to vote on what the new spaces should be! It's totally cool!

I voted for Risk, but that was before I remembered chess. Chess is undoubtedly my favorite board game. Risk is pretty fun, too, but it doesn't match the enjoyment of chess for me.

The best games are games where winning is nice but playing is better

::)Yea yea, nice sportsmanlike people. You make me sick . Nice guy's finish last, ha ha!!!!! This is a joke, by the way. I'm not actually like this. Leo Durocher isn't my second cousin twice removed (he's my uncle ).
