Well?
I'm still a Bush supporter, so I have voted "Yes."

Yes. I believe he is a fine man, a patriot, and one who will defend our nation as much as possible.

I never liked him much to begin with. I supported him mainly because he was a lesser of two evils choice both elections, but we could definately use better!

I'd just like to see a more intelligent leader who doesn't - excuse the term - BS around as much.
Personally, I think we've never been in more need of a leader like Roosevelt (well, besides during Roosevelt's presidency, of course....). But that's jsut personal opinion.

If you mean FDR...he is definitely not the man for the job at this time. He was a socialist and a kiss-up to the Soviets. He should have gotten America into WWII a lot sooner--but instead, he waited until we got bombed in Hawaii. A more intelligent leader who doesn't 'bs' around as much? Bush may not be the most motivating speaker the country's ever seen...but he has been a good leader who has kept America safe for 5 years after the worst attack in our history.

His reasoning was sound, though - WWII wasn't really our war until Japan pulled us into it. The moment if affected us, however, he had us in there and turning the tide. He also managed to keep the morale up and the people more or less united through the whole thing - which I doubt we'll EVER see in our time. That might be the issue of increasing stupidity and mass mentality, though.
Militarily, sure, he's kept us safe - but, not to agree with the media, the economy isn't doing so hot. It seems like he's focused exclusively on the war.

I think he is a good leader, but some of his decisions have not been as wise as they could have been. All in all, he has lost a great deal of popularity, but it is mostly because of the media.

Prove it. Gas prices are down, unemployment is down, inflation is down--it's getting a lot better.

I have a feeling about this. The economy is changing, not necessarily getting worse. It's different. We're a Wal-mart economy.

What do you mean by a Wal-Mart economy?
TD - I'll be happy when the gas prices drop under $2.00 (but I'm biased because I have to buy gas... lol). Maybe it is getting better - time will tell. So far, however, we've been investing millions in the war and neglecting internal affairs. Sure, we're sort of obligated, as the most powerful nation in the world, to become a global police force of sorts (though we really should've gotten the support of the UN first), but our own country should still come first. What's the point in keeping the country safe if we end up crippled economically?
I'll cover my back here, however - you know a lot more about politics than I do. I'm just bringing up the stuff I've wondered about.

I mean that we want more for less. Even to the sacrificing of quality and cost effectivness and at times morals.

I understand what you mean about gas prices--I've been a long-time critic of our nation's oil policies: buy from our enemies to supply our cars. It makes no sense. I propose (and most conservatives agree) that we drill in OUR OWN nation so that we're not dependent on people who want to kill us. Gas prices go down, security goes up, unemployment goes down...win-win-win.
We did have the support of the UN. In fact, one of the reasons we went to war was to enforce a Security Council resolution that said that Saddam had to "disarm or be disarmed." America (led by GWB) was one of the only nations in the world that had the guts to actually stand behind their threats. A month later, Saddam is out of power.
Now to get started on the UN--last week, President Bush spoke to the General Assembly and gave a moving speech about freedom throughout the world. He was met with only polite applause. Mahmoud Ahmadinejab (or something like that), who is the 'president' of our mortal enemy, Iran, came and spoke to the UN soon after and talked about how his nuclear energy was only for peaceful purposes, how he wanted to obliterate Israel, etc, etc...and he got resounding applause. The day after, Hugo Chavez ('president'/despot of Venezeuala) spoke at the UN. He said "The devil stood here yesterday--I can still smell the sulphur." He kept using this imagery about our President and bashed our government...but ended by saying he was a "friend of the American people" and that he wished we'd pick a smarter president next time around. AMAZING...this despot is saying the same thing the DEMOCRATS have been saying for a while. I guess dictators need friends too. Anyway, Chavez was too met with resounding applause. My point--THE UN IS WORTHLESS, Anti-American, Anti-Semetic, and needs to be booted out of New York.

Haha, good point. Then again, the media could find something wrong with the Pope (oh wait... they HAVE!!!!). I guess Bush just got stuck with a lot of junk and is dealing with it as best he can... kind've a Herbert Hoover.... lol But he's not decisive enough, and he is focusing too much on Iraq when he needs to keep everything that's going on in mind. He's decent, but not the best man for the job.

I am only disapointed in him in the area of immigration. But, I think he is a decent president and certainly better than the alternatives

[quote author=lilyjUgh, imagine... Gore would probably have everyone living in caves to prevent global warming! [/quote] Haha! Does anyone know what's going on with Kerry right now? I heard something about him saying something degrading to a soldier about the war. I heard that everyone is in an uproar.

Well he basically said if you work hard and get good grades you could get a good job. If not you get stuck in Iraq.
Now, that being just about the stupidest thing the man has ever said, he's got the entire Democratic party and the media in an uproar trying to smooth this over while the right wingers are tearing into him.

Nella, if you want to hear his comment, go to the Rebelution, they have a video of it.

Apperantly Kerry misread his script- he was supposed to say you would end up like George Bush and make mistakes like Iraq.
Still a stupid comment.
