Well, I figured we had to many religious debates going on, so we might as well get a good political one going ;D.
I'd say yes. We're in a war, we're allowed to wiretap. The enemy doesn't have rights to privacy.
Just to see if anyone here disagreed (which I doubt somehow, seeing as everybody seems to agree on everything).
Oh, and you don't necessarily have to live in a tree to pick #3. I'm sure that was bothering you.
EDIT: Hold up, I meant no, not yes. I hate staying up late.

Yes, agreed. Even in peacetime, if people are suspected to be talking with terrorists, it should be tapped.

***DEVIL'S ADVOCATE MODE*** Look, if you want to have the CIA knocking on the door in the middle of the night, then you can go call someone in the Middle East and start having a facetious (but on the outside serious) talk about terrorist operations in the United States! They'll be pinning you to the ground before you know it, and you wouldn't even have commited a crime! Plus, the present administration does more than wiretap terrorists. It monitors it's political enemies, and those who simply oppose it out of policy issues. It has wiretapped Greenpeace, even! I wonder just how many people the Bush administration has wiretapped simply for the sake of political opposition! Tomorrow they may be listening in to your private conversations! /***DEVIL'S ADVOCATE MODE*** You know, I agree with heartofgold. ;D Fire away at my facetious post

It depends. If we're wiretapping only suspected terrorists, then that's fine. But just wiretapping for the sake of wiretapping (like what HoG would do if he were President), that's wrong.

I think wiretapping in cases of war and terrorism, is fine, and IMO, spying on suspected terrorists is okay too.

Well, this is a war. Saying this is wrong is like saying code breakers in WW II were invading s privacy. No, if I were president, I think I could withstand the power and not wiretap everyone. (ha! fat chance).

Hey, everyone! Don't elect Heartofgold to the CT Presidency or he'll wiretap everyone! Wait...how can you wiretap people on the internet???.....

Do you doubt his spying prowess, falklands? Then you shall be the first to succumb to his ruthless surveillance program, which will gather data on the meals you eat for breakfast, among other ciritcal intelligence factors. ;D lol

Oho, yes I can. Now we've become vague about the actual dilemma to which murder wasn't the answer (actually in TD's and heartofgold's mind it is ;D). The dilemma seemed to be what would happen to Armany, now that he's let loose the secrets of *their* methods. Jesus is the answer? Yeah, what a great punishment for Armany ;D
