I care about the environment, but not that much. I don't really care if global warming is even occuring. I think we should stay the same. But I don't want to get worse...

Global Warming is a bunch of crap (for lack of a better word). It is scientifically proven that the world is, in fact, getting colder, not warmer. Yes, we have an issue with polution, but not global warming

Over the last few decades the average annual global temperature has risen by about half a degree centigrade.

i could care less about global warming. if i know what causes it i will probably not stop. i don't really care at all about the environment. if it gets hotter, then drink more water, dont't panic and act like the world is comning to the end, it is just heating up. if the icecaps melt, which they won't for like a millions years, and by that time we will be up in heaven (IMO), then live on a boat. global warming is just some politicians trying to find something to argue about.

Yeah, ever notice how it's the Democrats who are making a huge deal out of it? It's all a political scheme, IMO. I mean, they're flipping out about some area in Greenland where there's actually grass growing - according to an article I read, the Vikings lived in that same area several some-odd centuries ago. And the world hasn't turned into a giant microwave yet. The sick thing is, the media buys the b.s. put out my the pro-GW scientists, and then everyone buys what the media says. But what do scientists depend on? Grant money. And most of that grant money comes from political organizations who are looking for certain outcomes - and hush up anything that goes against their "scare tactic." 'Cause after all, scared people are easier to control. I have to commend Bush for not caving into the "fix global warming" pressure. So I'm not impounding my car anytime soon, thanks. Some good articles: epw.senate.gov/pressitem.cfm?party=rep&id=264777www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=4674See, for a while, we were supposed to read an article a week about Global Warming and write a response to it. My English teacher is totally convinced that it's a reality. Then a bunch of us started reading lots of anti-gw stuff. Now she's decided that we can't find reliable sources, and that instead of finding our own stuff and writing a term paper, she's going to give us articles and let us do a synthesis essay. And yet she has the nerve to claim she's open minded.

Okay, so I need to go on a little vent, and this relates to Global Warming (or lack of evidence thereof).
Today, my english teacher (the nut job) made us watch "An Inconvenient Truth" (that Al Gore version of a horror flick). When I openly expressed my disdain, she gave me a look and said, "Oh, you're a non-believer, huh?" (I was tempted to say, "Yep, I have a more fulfilling religion, thanks.")
Feeling effectively provoked, I found a rebuttal to almost every argument brought up by the film - and things started to get nasty. As in, every time the film brought up something that seemed indisputable, my English teacher looked at me and said, "Oh, what do you say to that?" (When I DID find something to say to "that," she seemed effectively subdued.) And some of my classmates joined in as well.
Does anyone else think that's jsut the slightest bit immature, especially from a TEACHER?
In the end, of course, I scored MAJOR points because I mentioned casually that all the scientists who provided data for the film recieved grant money from Gore or other parties of similar interests, and therefore wasn't reliable. No one had an answer to that one, of course. (God forbid someone actually demonstrate the "free thinking" skills that the bloody class is supposed to teach, right?)
I like my school, but sometimes public (or semi-private in my case) education really ticks me off.

I do believe global warming is a reality and is part of the "earth shall wax old..." (KJV some verse in Hebrews or something) phrase. I believe this for the following reasons: 1. Carbon dioxide prevents infrared rays from escaping 2. Fossil fuels contain carbon and consumption is increasing 3. I believe fossil fuels were created in the flood and therefore represent the amount of carbon in the atmosphere before the flood when it was hot and humid. 4. the trend over recorded weather is warming 5. dont trust anything i say because I'm not an expert
