What would you think if I said I believe in dragons (or dragon like creatures)?
What if I said that their meantioned in the Bible?
Believe it or not the Bible mentions some pretty bizarre creatures. Unicorns, satyrs, leviathan, behemoth, and yes dragons.
These creatures as mentioned as actual animals in the Bible.
Dragons are more oftenly used to describe Satan (duch as in Revelation or in parts of Isaiah). However though, there are times where it is mentioned as a creature. Here are the verses:
Psalm 44:19
Psalm 74:13
Psalm 91:13
Psalm 148:7
Isaiah 13:22
Isaiah 34:13
Nehemiah 2:13
Jeremiah 51:34
Ezekiel 29:3
Whether or not the dragons of the Bible are what we think they are I don't know, I'm not sure anyone alive cna really say for certain, not enough of a description.
Unicrons? Yup.
Deuteronomy 33:17
Numbers 23:22
Numbers 24:8
Job 39:9-10
Psalms 22:21
Psalm 29:6
Psalm 92:10
Isaiah 34:7
Whatever they are, their different from a horse (Job 39 also talks about horses so it would be logical to assume that the unicorn isn't a horse) and in one of the psalm's it mentions "the horn of an unicorn". Singular, one horn. Other than that though, I couldn't figure what it is.
Satyrs, only two times mentioned.
Isaiah 13:21
Isaiah 34:14
What they are, not a clue. Although, it doesn't make sense to me why it would be any animal with an alternate name that would have been used then.
Leviathan is mentioned not just in Job.
Job 41
Psalm 74:14
Psalm 104:26
It however is also sometimes used as a reference to Satan however. Oddly enough though, it describes the Leviathan as being able to "breathe" fire in Job. So it could be classified as a "dragon" that swims.
Behemoth, poor thing, only mentioned once.
Job 40
What exactly all these creatures are is quite debately, but there is the possiblity that they are a different species.
So, the big question, what do you think?
