Sorry about that. I was, however, under the impression that this was a Philosophy discussion. Also: Well as the quasi founder, I would think that you, as any free citizen, are allowed to submit questions, but any moderation should be at the behest of the President. So I felt justified in asking questions. But sorry all the same. Falklands

to whomever is moderating the case...I would like to see you invent a case and some significant backstory and evidence and then ask the COL candidates to rule and state why. If that is possible, of course.

Sure thing, Torc. I'll be moderating here for a few days until TD gets back.
Here's the scenario:
Nation X has just entered the region and has posted several comments that are offensive (bash Christianity), yet do not contain anything that violates language rules or that threatens CT with invasion. Nation X openly criticizes the faith of the region and engages in argument with several members of CT. Nation X's motto shows allegiance to some other religion.
As the CoL, you are put in a tough situation. You either can vote for Nation X to remain in the region under the pretense of freedom of speech (and in doing so allow Christianity to be attacked) or you can vote for the ejection of Nation X, possibly causing a decrease in the amount of nations moving to CT. How do you vote?

It depends what he says.
If he says "Christianity is for losers...God is a myth and only morons would believe it." Then toss him out. He is only here to cause trouble.
If he says "Hello, I am assan from the region "islam" and I would like to have a debate with you" Then my official COL verdict would be to change his motto to a non-offensive slogan and let him come and be peaceful on our forums. When I had the honor of leading a drug and sex abusing friend to Christ, it would never have happened if I had shut my door to him.
If he were to beocme obstinate and a drag to the region, then toss him. You must balance regional security and integrity with openness and love.
Just remember that the old rugged cross upon which our savior died has absorbed all of our sin, be us former drug users and sleepers, to liars and cheats, and those who would curse God. Who are we to overly judge? If we become "holier than thou" then we have lost all hope of conversion. Our job as a region is to have a speedwalk toward the cross for all to travel. Leave the door open, and leave it to the person coming to close it on themselves.

Well first off, if he's Islam, why is he here? I'd be getting a little suspicious.
But basically, I'd have to agree with torc (always annoying when you agree in debates isn't it). If he's not causing trouble, let him stay.

If he is a muslim, bhuddist, agnostic, what have you, we must still give him audience and a form to debate. I am not saying expand his influence and drag down the region. All I am saying is that some of the best Christians I know today, were won partially because I had the time for them, and was willing to put up with their arguments for a while. My persistance and tolerance of them eventually helped them come to Christ. Naturally, I take no credit for that was the work of the spirit, but you never know. If the guy is jsut causing trouble, boot him, but if he takes a genuine interest, we afford him at least a little time and hospitality.

I very much agree. If a non-christian nation joins, they are very welcome to debate as long as they are courteous and show respect to the other nations of CT.

My avatar, and my view on monkeys. Well, I think that, as I did inherit a, "read boring stuff and get it" gene, I can read stuff like our constitution and understand it well. Also, I think (no, wait, lets get more assertive), I know that I can uphold all Christian elements in the region (and I promise not to introduce purgatory ). Also, like I said, both parents are lawyers, so I've also inherited a good justice gene, so I can decide in cases of ejection and such. And I promise not to go off-topic.

I feel that I can serve CT very well through the council of law. I have alot ( though not as much as some members ) of experience, I have been ( and are) the UN Delegate of Teen Jesus Freaks, and have also been ( when i was in a different region) an ambassador to various regions. These is just a few of the many reasons ( which i can't think of right now ) to vote for Gynovia!! lol

There are several more candidates that have yet to respond. I'll wait for them.
We're getting close to election day. If we could get an exact date, then a day that this debate is to conclude would be set.

I heard (I might be wrong though), that the elections were going to be held a month from the presidential election. Namely, the 17th and 18th (I think) of January, but I might be wrong.

Simply put...Vision to fly and the grounded mind to safely soar.
Although a judge's job is not to jump into things, it IS his job to keep the environment pro-growth and friendship to help make the region better.
I know the constitution pretty darn well. I have read the laws as well. I will be a great and fair-minded judge with loyalty foremost to God and his word, and second to the law of this land.
May all things be for his glory, down to the things that would seem most petty, these elections, for everything we do should be done to honor him.

All right, seeing that the elections will be this Saturday through Monday, this debate will have to conclude.
If you guys wish, you can go ahead and post some concluding remarks in here up until the day of the elections. After that, it'd be kind of pointless to continue the debate.
