Looking up and down this page, I noticed there wasn't a single thread devoted to movies . So in comes that one guy from the OETA movie club (Sorry, have to be from Oklahoma to get it), wanting to talk about movies. Lets go.... I'll start off with my top ten movies in no particular order. 1. Toy Story 2. All the old Star Wars movies 3. Arachnophobia 4. I guess I have to put The Two Towers on here (but I didn't really like any of the other ones). 5. Monsters Inc. 6. Searching for Bobby Fisher (chess movie). 7. Larger than Life (another movie you've never seen). 8. Raising Arizona 9. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy 10. Cool Runnings

The Four Feathers 6. Lawrence of Arabia 7. Toy Story(ies) 8. iRobot (it was very good - for a more modern movie) 9. Our Mutual Friend 10. Oliver Twist

" No lace, Mrs. Bennett, No lace!" lOL, thats like one of my favorite lines of his. Besides, " I'm afraid we cannot escape the aquaintance now." And my favorite character (besides heroine Elizabeth) would have to be Jane or Mrs. Gardner, just because they are both so sweet of spirit But yeah, Heartofgold if you havn't seen it, do!!!

1) Lord of the Rings (all) 2) original and pre-Pickard Star Trek movies 3) Old Star Wars movies (Episode 3 had the stupidest line) 4) Toy Story 5) iRobot (although, it was quite different from the book) ... wow ... I just realized how pathetic I am ... only 5 movies that really grip me. Although, I personally prefer books.

I actually prefer books over movies as well, but some still grip me. But have you read the book version of Pride & Prejudice, or any of the other Charles thingyens/Jane Austen novels? They're fantastic.

I read "The Visitation". It is a book where you get really deep into the protagonists' character.

The trailer looked good and scary. I want to see it really bad, but it is only out in 20 cities. It is close to me, but only at a few times, times I can't go.

It's so crazy it's funny, but I don't see so much "intelligent" wit as I do in Pride & Prejudice...

Well, you gotta have both sides of comedy. And yes, I have read other Jane Austen books, like Sense and Sensibility ( the movie was better ) and Northranger abbey but I have never read the Pride and Prejedice books.

The best representation of the "other" side of comedy is Monty Python. Has anyone seen any of that?

That movie was... OK. Some of the acting was pathetic (Peter made me want to gag), the LOTR special effects guy ran out of money (Cyclops's with rubber masks... aigh! creepy), and it didn't move right. It moved too slow until it was supposed to move slow, then it moved fast. Plus, slow motion does absolutely nothing for me. So all these slow motion shots just came across as annoying.
I hope you mean the old ones.
Yea for Alfred Hitchthingy (I know his last name, in case its coming out as Hitchthingy). Haven't seen the birds yet though. I want to...
Hey I forgot about that one. Yea, that's definitely on my top ten. I'll kick off... oh its difficult... I guess I'll kick off Arachnophobia (although that was a great movie too, you'd like it GDL).
If you ever see a Disney movie called Larger than Life (with an elephant on the cover), rent it or buy it immediately. It has Bill Murry in it and was one of the funnies movies I have ever seen.

I think Monty Python is a ton better than the Three Stooges. All the Three Stooges do is hit each other. Monty Python has a wide array of talent, if you call it that.
I just saw the movie John Q. It has to be one of the best movies ever!!!! The story is great and you never know what will happen next. It is about a kid who needs a heart transplant to live and what his father does to get it.

The Three Stooges have some lines. Like everytime somebody walks in a says, "Gentlemen!" They all turn around and ask, "who came in the room?" But yea, mostly they just hit each other.
Curly for President!
